UK Firms must commit to net zero to win major government contracts

On Monday 7th June the UK Cabinet Office issued a press release stating

"New measures will require businesses to commit to net-zero by 2050 and publish clear and credible carbon reduction plans before they can bid for major government contracts"

Major contracts in this case are contracts over £5 million, however this will mean SMEs who are sub contractors in the upstream supply chain for these contracts will also need to have credible carbon reduction plans.

A credible carbon reduction plan starts with understanding your carbon footprint and identifying key environmental aspects to target for reduction.

Carbon Lens have the tools, expertise, and experience to help any business measure, analyse and reduce their carbon footprint for scope 1-3 emissions in a measurable way that can be effectively communicated to stakeholders such as clients, investors and prospects.
